Franchising is a distribution system through which goods and/or services and/or technologies are being marketed. The distribution model is based on the close and continuous cooperation of legally and financially independent enterprises, the franchisor and their franchisees. Legal basis for this cooperation is the “EU Commission Regulation of the Treaty to categories of vertical agreements”.
A vital component of the franchise system is the partnership with independent companies such as the franchisee, who operates one or more ATM locations, and the area developer, who takes care of the issues of the existing franchisees in their area and is responsible for the acquisition of new franchisees. The image below shows the structure of the franchise system:

- All franchise contracts are completed between the franchisor and the franchisee or direct franchisee or group franchisee, even if they have been relayed by an area developer.
- An area developer can also be a franchisee; yet they must complete an individual franchise contract.
- Mini-franchising option: GbR (Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts – company constituted under civil law) with up to 10 franchisees. An administrator takes over the duties of a franchisee for payment. Thus, each single contractor is only liable for the tenth part of a normal franchise contract.
GOLD to go® partners will receive territorial protection for their ATM locations.
